CHP offering a smart start
The California Highway Patrol is asking parents and teens to take some time to attend a free driving safety class aimed at young motorists. The two-hour start smart class is designed for new and future drivers, ages 15 through 19, and their parents. The class is taught by CHP officers, who will be discussing factors that contribute to crashes and how they can be avoided. The officers will also talk about investigating fatal crashes involving teen drivers. To make an appointment, call the Hollister-Gilroy CHP office at 848-2324.
