Over the past week, police responded to several incidents of drug possession, burglaries and aggressive animals. Here are a few of those incidents:
Juveniles smoking pot
On May 24, 4:10 p.m. police allegedly caught a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old male smoking marijuana in a red Cadillac at Carriage Hill Park. Both were arrested for being in possession of marijuana and resisting arrest. The two teens fled on foot from the officer to the 1600 block of Valley Oaks Drive.
Pack of dogs invade yard, kill small dog
On May 24 at 12:20 p.m., five dogs broke a fence on the 600 block of Glenview Court and into the neighboring backyard and killed a 12-year-old female terrier mix. The breeds of the attacking dogs are a black retriever, a catahoula, a pit bull and two pit bull pug mixes. All five brought to GPD station, where they are quarantined while investigation is ongoing.
Woman arrested for meth
Police pulled over Jessica Casas, 20, on May 25 at 6:38 a.m. on the corner of East and Seventh streets, and discovered she had a warrant for her arrest for narcotics charges. She was later found to be in possession of 0.8 grams of methamphetamines. She was taken to Santa Clara County Main Jail.
Porcella’s Music burglarized
Between the hours of 9 p.m. on May 24 and 6:53 a.m. on May 25, an unknown person smashed the window and cut the padlock at Porcella’s Music on Monterey Street, and stole $3,150 worth of instruments including a flute, violin, guitar, a trumpet and a clarinet. No suspects have been identified and police are currently investigating the matter.
Two women arrested in car theft crimes
On May 29 at 9:56 p.m., a stolen 1992 black Toyota was recovered on the 700 block of Gary Street. Marie Valdez, 26, was arrested for the possession of a stolen car, and for being a felon in possession of a stun gun. Athena Morales, 27, was arrested for being in possession of a window punch and for probation violation. Valdez was taken to Santa Clara County Jail.
