The cases were in San Carlos and Oakland, and both dealt with a burglar in a utility worker disguise who stole money and jewelry from the victims, GPD said in a press release.Â
PG&E is working with local law enforcement to investigate these crimes.Â
Residents should always ask to see valid identification before allowing anyone claiming to be a PG&E representative inside their home, the press release warns. If a person claiming to be a PG&E employee has identification and someone still feels uncomfortable, they should call PG&E’s customer service line at 1-800-PGE-5000 to verify an appointment or PG&E’s presence in the community.Â
