Carmel – The Peninsula Hotels announced the appointment of W. Lawson Little III as President of Quail Lodge Resort & Golf Club. Little will continue to oversee the company’s real estate development interests, business developments, special events and the company’s community relations and philanthropic outreach.
Little joined Quail Lodge in 1976. In 1978, Little was promoted to the real estate division where he and founder, Edgar Haber, developed the Quail Meadows subdivision. For the last 22 years, Little has served as Vice President for Quail Lodge Resort & Golf Club.
This appointment was a natural decision given Little’s longevity with the company, his lifelong residency on the Monterey Peninsula and his family history within the golf world – Little’s father, W. Lawson Little, Jr., was recognized as one of the world’s greatest golfers having won the U.S. and British Amateur Championships in 1934 and 1935, as well as the 1936 Canadian Open Championship and the 1940 U.S. Open Championship.
Little has two grown children, Chris and Sarah, and currently lives in Carmel Valley with his wife Rose.
