Men’s E

Gilroy –Campbell’s Towing marched into first place in the second half of the Men’s E League softball program Thursday with a 16-12 edging of EvMar at Las Animas Park.

Brandon Straw and Earl Nattrass each homered in a three-hit performance as Campbell’s moved to 3-0.

EvMar (2-2) pushed across five runs in the bottom of the first inning, paced by a two-run single from Jarred Reeves. Nattrass boomed a three-run homer in a four-run Campbell’s second. Straw roped a three-run homer and Bryan Merkel poked a two-run double as the Towers struck for eight runs in the third.

Brian Sleeper went 4-for-4 for Campbell’s. Tim Graves went 4-for-4, Albert Vega 3-for-4 for EvMar.

Dutchman’s Pizza dropped a 13-9 decision to Heinzen Manufacturing and dropped into second place at 3-1.

Heinzen Manufacturing rushed to an 11-1 lead by the third inning. Bobby Guerrero went 4-for-4, Spencer Straub lined a solo home run and Manny Freitas socked two singles and two sacrifice flies for the winners. Taylor Micali stroked two doubles, Larry Reimal two singles and a sacrifice fly for Dutchman’s Pizza.

Claddagh Brew Crew clipped SVCC Thumpers #2 15-11 in the opener. Mike Keith powered four hits and Dave Slater added three hits and a sacrifice fly for Claddagh. Jim Hansen went 5-for-5, Craig Wong 4-for-5 for the Thumpers.

Men’s EE

Louie Vasquez Jr. clubbed two triples Thursday to help 3-0 S&S Construction past 3-1 SVCC Thumpers #1 16-1 in Men’s EE League play at Christmas Hill Park.

Tim Razo added a double and two singles as S&S gained first place in the seven-team league. Adolpho Tellez went 3-for-3 and scored the Thumper run.

Rudy Gonzales went 3-for-3 to pace Edward’s Cleaning & Hauling-Joe Zertuche Real Estate past VFW Bingo 10-3. Edward Perez and Tim Martinez each scored two Edward-Zertuche runs. Gabe Sandoval went 3-for-4 and scored two VFW Bingo runs.

Gamers In Control moved to 3-1 with a 13-11 verdict over the Good Ole Boys.

Josh Gatto lined a two-run home run in a three-run rally for the Gamers in the bottom of the sixth inning. Gatto finished with four hits, including two homers. Erik Tovar and A. J. Martinez each scored twice for the winners. Mill Miller went 3-for-3 and Bob Schoeneman scored three runs for Good Ole Boys.
