Dear Editor,

We are writing in response to comments made in your recent editorial regarding your endorsements for the Gilroy School Board. Your statement, “on the school board and in other arenas, Kraemer has consistently exhibited a fondness for keeping the public in the dark” leads us to believe that Bonfante Gardens is one of the “other arenas” that you are referring to.

Bob Kraemer has been the voice of Bonfante Gardens during a very difficult time for the park. To hold him solely responsible for the information that is released is not only unfair, but also inaccurate.

We have to respect the wishes of our bondholders, attorneys, accountants, management partner and all the other advisors we rely on when making these types of decisions. All of those decisions are then made as a board, and not by Bob Kraemer in his capacity as our president.

Bob has been tireless in his work for Bonfante Gardens, and has been extremely willing to take on the very public role of spokesman. We, the other directors, appreciate those efforts tremendously, and to have them reflect negatively on Bob is just not right. We felt the public had a right to know.
