Gilroy – The Gavilan Nines held their June Ace Day on June 30 at the Gavilan Golf Course. Birgit Caparusso of Gilroy was the ace with a net 33, which was also good for first place in the first flight.
Donna Ashmore of Gilroy was second in the first flight with a net 33. Opal Imprescia of Gilroy was first in the second flight with a net 36, and Bobbi Bentley of Morgan Hill was second with a net 38. Low putts went to Donna Ashmore of Gilroy with 14.
The Gavilan Niners also hosted play at Gavilan on June 10. Imprescia and Marlene Sherwin of Morgan Hill shared the overall low net with 26. Phyllis Dollar of Morgan Hill came in second in her flight with a net 31 and Ann Maloney of Gilroy came in third in her flight with a net 33.
Eclectic winners were Sherwin with a net 24; Imprescia (net 26); Carol Navarez of Morgan Hill (net 27); and Peggy Woolf of Morgan Hill (net 29).
The winners of the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Fundraiser Closest-to-the-Pin competition were Ashmore in first place, Janet Roach of Watsonville in second, Joan Webenbauer of Morgan Hill in third and Pat Coedich of Gilroy in fourth.
The Gavilan Niners play each Thursday morning at the Gavilan Golf Course in Gilroy. Tee time is 8:30am.
