We’ll let Gilroy’s Julie Robinson describe how her daughter Jenae landed this trout:
‘My husband (Joe), myself and our daughter, 12, all went on a two-week trip to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. We had a wonderful cabin right on the Snake River.
‘After a full day of travel, we decided to take the fishing rod and check out the river which was very low and clear.
‘Jenae, a 7th grader at Solorsano Middle School was getting lessons from her dad on how to use the pole.
‘My husband and I bet her that if she caught a fish and we could take a picture with her and the fish, we’d give her $50 cash. We never dreamed she’d catch anything with the water so low and no visible fish around.
‘But lo and behold … our first day in the park on the Snake River, within 10 minutes, this is what she showed us. Unbelievable!
‘She went on to catch another fish within 10 minutes of another trip down to the river.
‘And she got her $50.’
