GHS softball gets No. 9 seed, will play Oak Grove on Wednesday
at Salinas Sports Complex
GILROY – After evening up its record at 14-14 overall two days before Saturday’s CCS Playoff seeding meeting, the Gilroy High softball squad received a No. 9 seed in the 13-team Division I bracket.
The Lady Mustangs will take on No. 8 Oak Grove (16-11) on Wednesday at the Salinas Sports Complex Field 1 at 4 p.m.
If Gilroy (6-9 in T-CAL) comes out on top, the locals will face off Saturday against top seed Carlmont (28-5) at Hawes Park at 2:30 p.m.
Other T-CAL teams in the Division I Playoffs are No. 6 North Salinas (20-7) – which will play No. 11 Mount Pleasant (16-8) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Salinas – and No. 5 Hollister – which will play No. 12 Milpitas (14-11) also in Salinas at 5 p.m.
Top seed Carlmont, No. 2 Wilcox (16-7) and No. 3 Watsonville (20-7) all received first-round byes.
