Gilroy – Chris Costello Electric clinched at least a tie for the Men’s Winter DD League season title by topping Claddagh Brew Crew 15-5 Thursday at Christmas Hill Park.

Tony Arce paced the Electrician offense by cracking three triples and a single in four at-bats for the 6-1 winners. Steve Lemberger lined a double and two singles, Ed Castro three singles for Chris Costello Electric.Claddagh Brew Crew, third with a 4-3 mark, called on Mike Keith and Lee Liberatore for two hits and one run scored each.

Whiplash moved into second place at 5-2 with a 9-3 victory over VFW Bingo.

Mario Silva hit a solo home run in the fifth inning and Julio Zabala and Jose Yerena poked solo shots in the sixth as Whiplash built a 9-0 lead.

Nick Alderete and Chris Stainton each tripled in the seventh inning as VFW Bingo pushed across three runs. Jeff Castro led the Bingo attack with three singles.

Co-Rec C

A to Z locked up at least a share of the Co-Rec Winter C League crown Thursday by powering by Loco’s Only 29-4 at Las Animas Park.

Michelle Marshall lined two doubles and Art Naranjo Jr. singled and doubled as A to Z scored 11 runs in the first inning. Joel Garcia hit two-run doubles in both the second and third stanzas as A to Z built a 26-0 lead.

Kenny Hopf went 4-for-4 for the league leaders. Mike Pellicione, Jimmy Castaneda and Frank Navarrete each doubled as Loco’s Only scored four runs in the fifth inning.

Frame Your Family improved to 5-2 with a 15-5 nod over the Big Kahunas.

Daniel Vasquez carried the Framer attack with a pair of home runs, a triple and double. Jason Trujillo roped a single, double and triple, Frankie Valadez and Ernesto Salinas three singles apiece for the winners. Mark Logan and Rudi Groppe each stroked two doubles and scored twice for the 4-3 Kahunas.

Jose Serrano Trucking joined the Framers at 5-2 with an 18-2 decision over Cosa Nostra.

Eddie Flores paced the Truckers with a home run, triple and double.

Rick Trujillo followed with a home run and two doubles. Ed Polanco hit a three-run triple and Tito Flores managed a single, double and triple for the winners. Josh Gonzalez homered and Lupe Lemus went 2-for-2 with an RBI for Cosa Nostra.
