DEAR EDITOR:

While on my morning walk the other day I came upon what I thought was the most uncommonly unattractive mail box holder that I have ever seen. Made out of brick and mortar, it looked like the first effort of a “do it yourself” brick layer who did not attend a Home Depot class.

Then I read Doug Meier’s column in the March 7th issue of The Dispatch and was amazed to find out that Charter Cable had constructed this monstrosity to cover up their above ground equipment that was too large to hide under one of their rocks.

I thought the rocks were bad enough, (who has ever seen a rock with slits cut in the side and a metal rod protruding from the rear?) but the mail box holder defies description. You gotta see it and that’s what I invite our city council members to do. Take a drive down Eagle View and then ask yourself, would you like one in your front yard?.
