Clos LaChance specializes in producing quality Bordeaux and Rhône style wines including a 2008 Lila’s Cuvee and 2007 Reserve Cabernet.
The idea of Clos LaChance started back in 1987 when co-owners Bill and Brenda Murphy decided to plant a few rows of Chardonnay in their Saratoga backyard. A few years later, the wines produced from this small backyard vineyard were good enough to sell to the public. It was at this point that Clos LaChance formed into a commercial winery. Together with their daughters, Bill and Brenda have created a multi-generational, family-owned and operated winery.
A recent review of Lila’s Cuvee was given a rating of 91. “One sip of this blend is all it takes to conclude that it’s quite a good wine. Dry and balanced, with smooth tannins, it houses blackberry, black cherry, cassis, teriyaki beef and sandalwood flavors. Gains extra points for sheer elegance of structure.”
