We take a look at the stories that are coming to the web and in
the paper. This week: a horse camp for underprivileged children,
developers wait out lull in market to build houses and the dropout
rate examined.
1. Not just horsin’ around

The Teri Davis Patane Memorial Horse Camp is in full swing, with children deep in Henry W. Coe State Park. But this is no ordinary riding camp. the camp in action and interviews with campers and the camp organizer.

2. What can stop dropouts?

One in 4 students drops out of high school in Gilroy. Students explain their reasons for falling behind in their studies or giving up altogether. Educators say that smaller class sizes, a supportive home life and mentors could make all the difference in keeping these students on the right track. We take a look at these issues and theories.
