Do you think the state should abandon the high-speed rail
project or press on?
THIS WEEK’S WEB POLL:
Do you think the state should abandon the high-speed rail project or press on?
Press on: 2 Abandon: 10
â– ABANDON! ABANDON! ABANDON! There are simply too many reasons to list why?
â– Press on. It would be nice to have at least one thing in our state that moves at high speed!
â– Abandon. Since the state has clearly demonstrated that they have zero ability to collaborate with local communities and provide appropriate funding for infrastructure, I say abandon.
â– DUMP IT. It’s a massive boondoggle that will contribute to more government debt at the expense of the taxpayers.
â– Abandon it! It all seems to be a waste of money.
â– Abandon. Californians are too spread out to make the high-speed project economically viable, and moving-people effective. Electric vehicles with 300 mile ranges (Tesla) would make this obsolete.
â– High speed rail is an absolute waste of resources. It’s a pet project of Rod Diridon and that is probably a good enough reason to not be in favor of it.
â– Abandon the project. It was ill-conceived to begin with and I remain stunned that the voters gave it the go ahead.
â– Press on, but with trepidation. Public transport must become a part of our lives in California, however, the adverse ways that it might affect our city reflect the lack of foresight that always is part of the decision making process due to the nature of politics.
