BASEBALL: Local team victorious at inaugural tournament
The South County Rebels, a Gilroy-based 11U baseball team, earned the championship at the inaugural Mardi Gras Tournament held at Las Animas Veterans Field on Sunday.

Dressed as Rosie the Riveter, the Salcido family used their elbow grease to represent Gilroy at the Santa Cruz Clam Chowder Cook-off and Festival Saturday. They didn’t win, but the day was still a success.
