Survey says: tax hike for ER OK
Some Gilroy voters said they’re supportive of a sales tax increase to benefit Saint Louise Hospital, according to a recent phone survey the private hospital commissioned; however – the tax is more attractive if it were paired with funding education, fire services, police officers or services for the elderly.

YMCA kicks off giving campaign month
The Mt. Madonna YMCA kicked off its month-long Annual Giving Campaign to support youth and seniors in our community on Feb. 1. More than 100 volunteers will work to raise $125,000 that will go toward providing YMCA programs for those who cannot afford it in Gilroy, Morgan Hill and San Martin. The proceeds go to support participants in afterschool programs, programs for seniors, summer camp programs and youth sports.
