Community Sports: Gavilan Golf Course launches FootGolf
GILROY—On June 1, Gavilan Golf Course looked like it was under siege. Several tiny rebels and their parents stood on the tee boxes kicking soccer balls down the fairways with wide smiles on their faces and laughter echoing throughout the course. But this was no act of defiance, it was the launch of FootGolf.

Former Gilroy resident and current Olympian Shelley Olds, far left, shared this photo, and others, from London, taken this week, of her and her teammates, Kristin Armstrong, Evelyn Stevens and Amber Neben, who will represent the United States on the cycling road team that races Sunday for gold. Olds is wearing a special edition uniform that will only be worn at the Summer Games.
