Daycare remains unbeaten in Men’s Winter D League
GILROY – Countryside Daycare outlasted the Los Chilotes 16-13 Friday to remain unbeaten atop the Men’s Winter D League standings at Las Animas Park.
Bob Reggiani went 4-for-4 as Countryside moved to 3-0. Louie Aguayo lined two RBI-singles for the Daycare. Joel Gaeta and Clint Miner each homered for Los Chlotes.
Dirty Dozen is 2-1 in the D League with a 15-8 nod over Aladdin Bail Bonds-Carreiro’s Plastering. Vince Carrasco scored four Dirty runs and Joel Garcia went 4-for-4 for the winners. Matt Hernandez went 4-for-4 and Brent Boyd homered for Aladdin-Carriero’s.
The Rebels snapped a three-game losing streak with a 14-10 victory over Get Low Players. Mark Merz went 4-for-4 and Shawn Hernandez went 3-for-3 with a sacrifice fly for the Rebels. David Williams went 4-for-4, Bubba Cordiero 3-for-4 for Get Low Players.
The VFW Vets are 3-0 and on top of the Men’s Winter C League after a 5-4 edging of the Playaz Friday at Christmas Hill Park.
An Abel Martinez double in the sixth inning accounted for the winning Vets run. Martinez added a run-scoring double in a three-run first frame. Gilbert Salgado homered and Paul Garcia singled and doubled for the 1-2 Playaz.
Josh Padron’s RBI-double keyed a four-run sixth inning as Dee’s Nuts topped the Las Animas Sweepers 7-5. Ray Martinez went 3-for-3 for the winners. Kevin Orozco singled and doubled for the Sweepers.
Rick Trujillo went 3-for-5 to pace Guy’s Heating and Air Conditioning past the Good Fellas 13-2. Charlie Muro went 3-for-3 for the Good Fellas.
