GILROY – Countryside Daycare upset Talk Alota Ship 5-4 Tuesday to slip into first place in the Men’s Winter D League standings at Las Animas Park.
Trailing 3-1 after five frames, Countryside combined three hits with three walks to produce four runs and a 5-3 cushion in the sixth. Louie Aguayo and Albert Alosi hit run-singles to tie the score. Kris Ferguson followed with a two-out, two-run double.
John DeCarlo Jr. and John Macedo each collected two hits for 2-0 Countryside. Johnny Crocker and Tracy Sustaita managed two hits as the Shippers joined three other clubs at 2-1.
Jorge Landeros and Clint Miner cracked three hits apiece to spark Los Chilotes past the Rebels 9-8. Juan Contreras hit an RBI-triple in the sixth inning as Los Chilotes scored four runs for a 9-7 lead. Anthony Lucio went 4-for-5, Jarrod Hernandez and Shawn Hernandez following with three hits each for the Rebels.
Don Hufnagel and Mike Hernandez lashed home runs as Aladdin Bail Bonds-Carriero’s Plastering trimmed Get Low Players 14-6.
Brent Boyd and Cesar Lopez each provided three hits as the Aladdin-Carriero’s offense produced runs in each inning. Mike Reggiardo and Pablo Borba each went 3-for-3 for Get Low Players.
Matias Franco delivered a triple and two singles as 3-0 Cosa Nostra turned back Blackout Window Tinting 13-7 in Men’s Winter E League action at Christmas Hill Park.
Cosa Nostra, down 6-4 after four frames, struck for six runs in the fifth inning. Jose Serrano capped the rally with a two-run double.
Janon Corral drilled a double and two singles for Blackout Window Tinting.
Sam Juarez went 4-for-4 and scored four runs to highlight a 14-7 Boss Hawgs victory over the Slammers. Daniel Hinojos scored four runs and Vince Quiroz went 3-for-4 for the 2-1 Hawgs. Art Mancera went 2-for-3 with two RBI for the 2-1 Slammers.
