For the love of garlic

GILROY—Love is in the air.
The 37th annual Gilroy Garlic Festival will be extra special for one couple, who will cap off the three-day festival with a garlic-themed wedding ceremony at 4 p.m. July 26.
The winners, selected through a social media contest, will have their wedding presided over by longtime Festival volunteer Gerry Foisy, better known as Mr. Garlic. They will be given garlic-themed boutonnieres and bouquets and have their first dance on the Amphitheater stage. The couple will also receive a honeymoon package valued at over $5,000, which includes a one-year supply of Christopher Ranch garlic.
For those not exchanging vows during the Festival, there’s still plenty to do. Visitors can enjoy a plethora of garlic-infused food, watch the flame-ups at Gourmet Alley, live entertainment and cooking competitions, and more.
The Garlic Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 24-26 at Christmas Hill Park in Gilroy.
