GILROY – Dee’s Nuts slipped past Guy’s Heating and Air Conditioning 9-8 in eight innings Monday to earn a share of the second-half Men’s CC League title at Gavilan Sports Park.
Dee’s (4-2) will face Krazy Koyote-Dutchman’s Pizza (4-2) in a one-game playoff for the second-half crown Monday Aug. 4 at 7 p.m. at Christmas Hill Park.
Eric Jimenez hit a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to give Dee’s an 8-4 lead. Guy’s (3-3) responded with a four-run rally in the seventh, keyed by a two-run double by Rick Trujillo and a two-run sacrifice fly by Anthony Hernandez.
Tony Vega’s single with two out in the eighth plated Ernie Lopez with the winning run for Dee’s Nuts.
Pasqual Cid homered and Cesar Lopez clubbed three hits for the winners. Dan Gavrity went 2-for-2 and scored three Guy’s runs.
Kenny Hopf drove in four runs with a home run, triple and single in a 23-4 Krazy-Dutchman nod over Countryside Preschool.
Mike Hernandez, Don Hufnagel and Anthony Morales hit homers for the winners. Jesse Nunez went 3-for-3 for Countryside, the first-half CCC League champion.
Krazy Koyotes moved to 5-0 atop the Co-Rec B League Monday with an 18-4 decision over Dee’s Nuts and Cherries at Gavilan.
Bobby Garcia lashed a homer, triple and double for the Koyotes. Everett Wallace homered and Danny Garcia and Melissa Taku each went 4-for-4 for the winners. Eric Jimenez went 3-for-4 for Dee’s Nuts and Cherries.
Tomas Carrillo, Joel Gaeta and Alan Hazelberg provided home runs as Gaeta’s Taqueria (3-1) outlasted Feather Haven Mill 10-9 in nine innings. Carrillo’s single in the ninth plated Chris Adame with the deciding run. Jenny Szyndrowski went 3-for-5 for Feather Haven Mill.
Los Gatos Capital completed the Men’s CCC League season Monday at Las Animas Park with a 12-11 victory over AJ’s Boys.
Chuck Rodgers, Mike Davis and Mike Mendoza each collected three hits for the 3-3 Capitalists. Mario Bena went 5-for-5 and Brad Burrows hit a grand slam for AJ’s Boys.
Joseph Arde went 4-for-4 with a home run to spark Las Animas Sweepers to a 21-20 win over Handmade Healthcare. Johnathan Johnson and Emiliano Arde each added three hits to the Sweeper offense. Brian Marshall went 3-for-4 and drove in three Handmade runs.
