The South County Democratic Club is proud to announce endorsements in the upcoming June primary elections. In voting that took place on March 25, club members endorsed Salinas Mayor Anna Caballero in the Democratic Primary for Assembly District 28 (which includes Gilroy). In the 15th Congressional District the club endorsed Representative Mike Honda to return as the Gilroy representation in Washington.
Additionally, members endorsed Jerry McNerney in the 11th Congressional District Democratic primary. The 11th District includes the county area east of Gilroy and the City of Morgan Hill. The winner of that primary will be bidding to unseat Republican Richard Pombo in the fall elections.
Representative Zoe Lofgren received our endorsement in the 16th Congressional District, which includes San Martin. Assembly member John Laird was endorsed for reelection in the 27th Assembly District, which includes San Martin and Morgan Hill.
The club also endorsed the Santa Clara County Parks Charter Renewal Measure, which is Measure B on the June ballot. This measure would continue assessments and funding of county parks maintenance at their current levels.
