GILROY – The Gilroy High School Parent Club needs volunteers to work at the Garlic Festival and raise money that will go straight into classrooms, helping out hard-working teachers.

Have a good time at the festival and work to raise money for the Parent Club.

Shifts are four to five hours, depending on the job, both in the morning and afternoon.

GILROY – Register now for summer college classes at Gavilan.

Only $18 per unit and financial aid is available. Classes are held at all times in Gillroy, Morgan Hill, Hollister and online.

The six-week session starts Monday, June 14.

Transportation discussion

GILROY – A discussion about transportation will be held Friday, June 11, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Historic Strand Theatre, 7588 Monterey St.

Guest speakers include Santa Clara County Supervisor Don Gage and Silicon Valley Manufacturing Group President and CEO Carl Guardino.
