Kid’s authors in town
GILROY – The Wize Owl Bookstore, 8060 Santa Teresa Blvd., suite 110, will host two award-winning children’s authors on Thursday, Jan. 15, from 6 to 7 p.m. Jane Kurtz will sign copies of her book “Saba: Under the Hyena’s Foot,” a historical novel in the American Girl’s – Girls of Many Lands series. Toni Buzzeo will sign copies of her books “Dawdle Duckling” and “The Sea Chest” for young readers. Details: 848-9090.
Bands needed for battle
GILROY – The Elk’s Lodge, 2765 Hecker Pass Highway, is accepting applications for bands, musicians and soloists who wish to participate in their Battle of the Bands at their fifth annual Wedding and Special Occasion Showcase on Saturday, Jan. 31 and Sunday, Feb. 1.
