Bowl for cheerleading
GILROY – The Gilroy High School Competition Cheerleading Team will host a “Bowl-A-Thon,” a fund raiser, on Saturday, Jan. 24, at Gilroy Bowl, 7554 Monterey St., from 7 to 10 p.m. A raffle will be held every hour. The team recently qualified for the Nationals in Orlando, Fla. Any donations would be greatly appreciated and may be sent to Heritage Bank, 737 First St. Or, if you would like to sponsor a team member call Jan at 848-3630.
Grant deadline approaches

Eat breakfast with the Lions
SAN MARTIN – The San Martin Lions Club will hold its annual “Pancake Breakfast” on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 1, from 8 a.m. to noon, at the Lions Hall, adjacent to the San Martin Airport. A donation of $6 for adults and $3 for children will benefit the Lions and help them give back to the community. Old eye glasses and hearing aids will be collected to help those in need. MORGAN HILL – The Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center (WERC) will host Peg Jackson’s 12 annual “Pet Photo Days,” on Friday, Feb. 6, from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 8, from noon to 4 p.m., at the Animal Care Center, 16025 Vineyard Blvd in Morgan Hill. Get a top-quality 5-by-7 photo of your pet for $50. All of the money received will go to benefit WERC. Appointments are required. Details to RSVP: 779-4010.
