Ice cream party

GILROY – Cold Stone Creamery, 890 Renz Lane, suite 101, will dish out sweet wishes during the third annual ‘World’s Largest Ice Cream Cake Social,’ a fundraiser benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday

More than 750 stores nationwide will give guests – who are invited to make a donation toward Make-A-Wish – a complimentary slice of yummy ice cream cake.

Scouts wanted for TV

GILROY – Are you a Girl Scout or a Boy Scout in Gilroy, Hollister or San Juan Bautista? Want to make your own TV show and earn a Scout Badge at the same time? Then join CMAP (Community Media Access Partnership) for ‘Scout Week at CMAP.’ Scouts ages 8 and up can earn a Cinematography Merit Badge. A fee of $100 includes 30 hours of workshops and activities, a Scout Week T-shirt, VHS copy of Scout Week Shows, daily lunch and an eight-week membership to CMAP.
