Give and receive

GILROY – Garlic City Coffee and Tea, 7501 Monterey St., is home to a donation barrel for the Salvation Army. Anyone who brings in nonperishable food or an unwrapped toy will receive a coupon for their next visit. The barrel will be out through Thursday, Dec. 11. Details: 842-4220.

Breakfast with Santa

GILROY – Register now to have Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 13, with seating at 8:30 and again at 10:30 a.m. The event is limited to children 3 to 9 years old, who can enjoy breakfast and have their photo taken with Santa. They will also make some fun craft items. Breakfast with Santa takes place at the Senior Center, 7371 Hanna St. The fee is $12 (non-residents $14.00) for adults and $7 for children (non-residents $ 9).

Instruct your soul

GILROY – The Sanctuary Center for Spiritual Exploration will hold “A Dialogue with the Soul” on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This workshop will weave together writing, visualization, relaxation, meditation and listening to one’s heart as a means of connecting with one’s highest source of wisdom and inspiration. Ira Progoff’s “At a Journal Workshop” and Denise Bissonnette’s “The Wholehearted Journey” will be incorporated. Space is limited. Details: 838-4704.

Barbeque toy benefit

MORGAN HILL – Toys for Tots will help host a barbecued pork dinner and dance fund raiser on Friday, Dec. 12, at the Morgan Hill Grange Hall, from 6 p.m. to midnight. Any items, coupons, services, or beautiful things donated for the dinner and/or raffle prizes would be graciously accepted. Tickets are $20 per person with $10 going into their local toy buying frenzy.
