MH motorcyclist injured in crash
San Martin – A 43-year-old motorcyclist from Morgan Hill was driving drunk when he crashed into a car on San Martin Avenue and fractured his right foot and leg Wednesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Ukea Archer had been drinking earlier in the evening and was headed west on San Martin about 9:35pm when a Toyota Corolla in front of him prepared to turn left onto Murphy Avenue. Archer crossed over a double-yellow line in an attempt to pass the car as it was turning. The right side of his motorcycle struck the left side of the Corolla, driven by 45-year-old Martha McNiel of San Martin.
Archer lost control of the motorcycle, ran off the road, and was ejected into a dirt field. He fractured his right foot and leg, and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. McNiel was uninjured.
