GILROY – The Reek Run is scheduled for Saturday, July 12, at Gavilan College. The 10K race starts at 8 a.m. and the 5K run/walk starts at 8:15 a.m. Medals are awarded to the top three places in each division. Register at Gavilan on race day, near the tennis courts, for $25 with shirt and $15 without. Details: 683-4683.
Garlic city fun run
GILROY – The third annual Garlic City Fun Run and Car Show will take place Saturday, July 12, from 3:30 to 10 p.m. downtown. Enjoy shopping, food, live music and the lighting of the “garlic bulb” at 9 p.m. Shows including Sha-boom, Elvis (Don Prieto), and more will take place at the North Stage from 3:30 to 10 p.m. Performances including Five Minutes to Freedom and Johnny Rocket & the Thrust will perform at the South Stage from 3:30 to 8:45 p.m. No alcoholic beverages can be sold.
