GILROY – Leadership Gilroy is proud to announce the appointment of its newest board member, Janie Mardesich.

She has been very active with the Gilroy Foundation and the Garlic Festival.

Leadership Gilroy is starting recruitment for the 2005 session. If you are interested in a nine-month intensive program that offers its class members leadership training and exposure to virtually every facet of Gilroy – from local government and economic development to education and health care, then please send an e-mail to le********@****oy.org with your name and address so a packet can be mailed.

Ice cream party

GILROY – Cold Stone Creamery, 890 Renz Lane, suite 101, will dish out sweet wishes during the third annual ‘World’s Largest Ice Cream Cake Social,’ a fundraiser benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, on Thursday, July 29, from 5 to 8 p.m.

More than 750 stores nationwide will give guests, who are invited to make a donation toward Make-A-Wish, a complimentary slice of yummy ice cream cake.

The cake is a blend of layers of devil’s food cake, sweet cream ice cream, Oreos and chocolate shavings wrapped in rich chocolate ganache.

GILROY – The Gilroy High School Class of 1984 will hold their 20th Class Reunion on Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Gilroy Elks Lodge, 2765 Hecker Pass Road. Reservations must be made by Friday, July 30.
