Domingo “Americano” Garza Cardona passed away in Gilroy on July 5, 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Velia Padilla Cardona; children, Arthur Vargas Jr. and wife Mary of Sacramento, Frank P. Vargas of Gilroy, Erlinda Vargas of Sacramento, Daniel P. Vargas and wife Chris, of Sacramento, Jennie Velasquez of Sacramento, Stella P. Gaucin of Hollister and Dolores P. Garcia and husband Benny of Hollister; grandchildren, Arthur, June, Katrina, Frankie Jr., Jesse, Teresa, Robert, Lisa, Nicole, Juanita, Alfred Jr., David, John, Michael and Michelle and 11 great-grandchildren, two sisters and one brother. He will be also missed by Shorty.
Mr. Cardona retired from Gilroy Foods after 30 years of employment. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Vigil Service will be Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Habing Family Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and then proceed to St. Mary’s Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park.
