Gilroy High School is still accepting donations for its community prom closet.

The closet recycles formal wear for the GHS “Coutu-re” program. It gives students the option to sport stylish, affordable digs, rather than shelling out wads of cash for a brand new dress/tuxedo.

On Jan. 22, the Gilroy High School Parent Club hosted a showcasing of donated items with a fashion show at Westside Grill in Gilroy. The event raised more than $700. The money will go toward a GHS essay contest, which awards winning students by helping them pay for prom expenses.

To donate or learn more about GHS’s prom closet, email Jocelyn Newell at jo*********@ya***.com or call her at (408) 722-5144.
