I would like to respond to Mr. Davis letter in which he calls
for the immediate termination of District Attorney Ed Fernandez,
who was recently arrested for possession of marijuana.

I would like to respond to Mr. Davis letter in which he calls for the immediate termination of District Attorney Ed Fernandez, who was recently arrested for possession of marijuana.
I am in harmony with Mr. Davis regarding medical marijuana, and am also in favor of the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes.
As such, I can not condone firing anyone for the mere use or possession of marijuana. If Mr. Fernandez has prosecuted others for similar crimes perhaps he will rethink his position and become a force for reform; he will have little opportunity to do so if his job is forfeited.
