A 57-year-old Salinas man was killed in a DUI related accident
involving a semi-trailer truck on Highway 152 west of Dinosaur
Point Road, according to California Highway Patrol officers.

Gilroy – A 57-year-old Salinas man was killed in a DUI related accident involving a semi-trailer truck on Highway 152 west of Dinosaur Point Road, according to California Highway Patrol officers.
The driver, also a Salinas man, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Rigoberto Perez, 24, was traveling in the fast lane of westbound Highway 152 towards Gilroy in his 1993 Nissan Monday, when he encountered a standstill in traffic. His passenger, a 57-year-old male Salinas, suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:30pm. The coroner is withholding the name of the deceased until relatives can be notified.
Perez suffered minor injuries and was taken to San Jose Regional Hospital via helicopter. He was treated and then taken to Santa Clara County Jail.
Police are investigating the accident.
