Takko-Machi residents 'shaken up' after earthquake

A magnitude 4.3 earthquake centered north of Morgan Hill shook
the South Santa Clara Valley this morning.
A magnitude 4.3 earthquake centered north of Morgan Hill shook the South Santa Clara Valley this morning.

No damage or injuries were immediately reported by area law enforcement agencies.

The temblor was centered about four miles underground and 11 miles north of Morgan Hill, according to information on the U.S. Geological Survey Web site. It occurred about 10:40 a.m.

Residents of both Morgan Hill and Gilroy reported feeling a momentary jolt from the low-magnitude quake.
