Elvira M. Hernandez, preceded in death by her husband, Faustino R. Hernandez, who passed away in 2007. Known to her family as “MAMA”, she passed into the Lord’s arms at her home on Monday afternoon, surrounded by her loving family. Elvira was born in Aldama, Guanajuato, Mexico. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her children; Ignacio Faustino (Daisy) Hernandez, Rose (Alex) Hernandez, Cesareo Hernandez, Carmen Hernandez and Beatriz “Bette” Hernandez. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one sister. Elvira worked at Gentry’s for approximately 25 years. She was the happiest during family gatherings and she loved to cook for her family. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting and sewing. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A visitation will take place on Monday, March 17, 2008 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. with a vigil service to commence at 7:00 P.M., both at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Street in Morgan Hill. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Catherine Parish, 17400 Peak Avenue in Morgan Hill. Interment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
