– The Gilroy Garlic Festival is now accepting recipes for its
annual Great Garlic Cook-off Recipe Contest.

GILROY – The Gilroy Garlic Festival is now accepting recipes for its annual Great Garlic Cook-off Recipe Contest. Eight finalists will be selected to prepare their garlicky dishes from a panel of five celebrity judges at the 25th Anniversary Gilroy Garlic Festival, held July 25, 26 and 27. The winner receives $1,000 and an honorary crown of garlic. $750 is awarded to second place, $500 for third place and $100 for the remaining finalists. Recipes must be original and specify at least six cloves of fresh garlic or the equivalent packaged form. Recipes must serve six and take less than two hours preparation time. Professional chefs and other food specialists are not allowed to enter. Complete contest rules are posted at the Festival Web site, www.gilroygarlicfestival.com. Entries must be postmarked no later than May 1. Recipes should be submitted via e-mail to cl***@gi******************.com or mailed to Gilroy Garlic Festival Association, PO Box 2311.
