Lifetime Gilroy resident Ernest J. Camino, 94, died Oct. 13, 2003, at his home.

Ernie was a plumbing contractor in Gilroy for 40 years, an avid hunter, fisherman, stamp collector and loved his fruit trees.

Ernie is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ida Camino, of Gilroy; children Raymond, (Marcia) Camino of Shaver Lake, Jeanne Maggiora of Gilroy, Linda (Robert) Elia of Gilroy and Michael (Kathy) Camino Sr., of Aromas; grandchildren Richard Reyes, of Gilroy, Kenneth Camino, of Arizona, Thomas Camino, of Indiana, Maria Maggiora, of Gilroy. Carrie Bailey, of Arizona, Julie Martin, of Oregon, Stephen Elia, of Hollister, Lori Ortiz, of Los Angeles, Michael Elia, of Galt, Toni Manning, of Gilroy, Cyndi Parmenter, of San Jose, Christopher Maggiora, of Gilroy, Michael Camino Jr., of Hollister, and Jeffrey Elia, of Gilroy; 18 great grandchildren,; and many nieces, nephews and brothers-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Josephine Orla, Margaret Rice, his son-in-law Martin Maggiora and his great granddaughter Stephanie Camino.

Visitation will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Habing Family Funeral Home followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Gilroy. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
