The Fall Passport event is a perfect weekend for any wine lover. For a flat price, wine tasters receive a passport booklet which allows them one visit per winery over the three-day weekend.

Over two dozen wineries will participate in this semi-annual event, sponsored by the Wineries of Santa Clara Valley association from Friday, Sept. 30 through Sunday, Oct. 2.

Groups of people flock to this event to celebrate friendships, birthdays and other milestones while sampling our region’s wines.

On Friday evening a dozen wineries will pair their wines with small bites from local restaurants at the Morgan Hill Community Center. “Just the Friday night, alone, makes the event worth the price of admission,” notes Morgan Hill resident, Tim Hendricks.

Tom Moller, owner and winemaker of Satori Cellars, says, “We enjoy Passport as it tends to bring a host of new people who haven’t been exposed to the Santa Clara Valley wine appellation and our many different and unique wineries. They always seem pleasantly surprised and end up coming back, often on a regular basis.”

Owner of Kirigin Cellars Dhruv Khanna, says “Passport weekends are very important to our Santa Clara wineries because they remind our County’s residents that we have our very own pedigreed wineries very close by. We welcome the first-time visitors that Passport weekends bring.”

The annual Passport event is so popular, we always recommend people purchase their tickets before they sell out.

Newcomer and winemaker, Karen Seeker explained, “We were nervous about participating in Passport for the first time last fall. But everyone who visited Seeker Vineyard was amazing and seemed to truly appreciate our wines. We met new folks we may not have met otherwise.”
Tickets include a souvenir wine glass, live music and more. Tickets are $40 in advance or $45 at the door. For more information, go to santaclarawines.com.
