Tovar’s two run shot in eighth inning lifts Most Wanted to 8-7
victory over Hitmen
GILROY – Gilbert Tovar belted a two-out, two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Most Wanted an 8-7 Men’s DDD League victory over the Hitmen at Gavilan Sports Park.
Moe Bedolla’s two-out RBI-single in the bottom of the seventh inning capped a three-run rally for Most Wanted. Russ Chagnon scored on an infield out in the top of the eighth for the Hitmen. Peter Godinez led off the Wanted eighth with a single, then waited until Tovar’s blast to centerfield.
Jaime Rosso hit a two-run homer for the winners. Russ Black singled and doubled for the Hitmen.
Aladdin Bail Bonds-Rhino Winring snapped a 10-10 tie in the top of the seventh inning with six runs, leading to a 16-11 nod over California Overhead. Frank Crue powered a two-run trirple to highlight the Aladdin-Rhino seventh. Adam Hollis and Steve Aguirre each mustered three hits for the winners. Ed Solis went 4-for-4 and Hector Gallardo lined a single and two triples for California Overhead.
Jason Chaput muscled two homers, Danny DeLong one in a 23-2 victory for Dan Keith Septics over Bay Sheets. Joey Fernandez and Craig Fisher each singled and scored for Bay Sheets.
Art Naranjo Jr. homered and scored four runs as Mitsubishi Motors topped Dutchman’s Pizza-Big Kahunas 16-10 Sunday in the Co-Rec League opener at Las Animas Park.
Jose Melendrez Jr. collected four hits, Norma Wendt three for Mitsubishi. Shawn Crank homered and Rudi Groppe lashed three singles for Dutchman’s-Kahunas.
Benny Sanchez clubbed a home run and two singles to spark Chicks N’ Sticks to an 11-0 win over Team Hair FX. Rico Lopez singled and tripled, scoring twice. Stephenie Johnston went 2-for-3 for Team Hair FX.
Shaleen Moreno’s RBI-single completed a three-run rally in the sixth inning as Covenant Builders defeated Dicar Insurance 5-2. Richard Adams went 3-for-3 for Covenant, Tim Adams 2-for-3. Kyle Richard went 2-for-2 for Dicar Insurance.
Rush Order earned a forfeit win over South Valley Newspapers.
