Corde Ball’n outlasted GC Farms; Pizza N’ Stuff maintains
one-game lead
Gilroy – Flash clinched at least a tie for the first-half Men’s DDD League basketball title Wednesday with a 69-41 triumph over the Eagles at Solorsano Gymnasium.
Jordan Reyes poured in 18 points as Flash moved to 4-0 and a two-game lead with two games left in the first half.
Flash enlarged a 24-22 intermission edge with a 28-9 spurt in the final 10 minutes. Tony Johnson struck for 13 points, Loubebet Viray and Charles Nguyen 12 apiece for the winners. Daniel Fauss hit for 14 points, Marcos Barbosa 12 for the 2-2 Eagles.
Corde Ball’n outlasted GC Farms 46-41 to leave both teams at 1-3.
Bobby Martin anchored the Corde Ball’n offense with six three-point field goals on the way to 19 points. Michael Moore helped with nine points. Chad Bright popped in 17 points and Kevin Jarvis hustled to 12 for GC Farms.
Pizza N’ Stuff maintained a one-game lead in the Men’s D League pennant scramble with a 59-42 decision over CordeValle Tuesday at Solorsano Gym.
Miguel Gillard sparked the 4-0 Pizza attack with 22 points. Juan Rios added 15 to the Pizza N’ Stuff offense. CordeValle, 27-26 leader at the intermission, called on 11 points from Danny Crowe.
Morgan Hill Garage Door moved to 3-1 with a 53-45 nod over Headstart. Sig Reynisson, Danny Rodriguez and Jacob Garcia each tallied 13 points for the Doors. Robert Lemmon managed 17 points, Carlos Guerrero 10 for Headstart.
Toto’s Stingers split two games this week to remain one-half game ahead of the second-place club in the Men’s DD League.
Dean Friend and Adolfo Mirelez each scored 16 points Monday as Toto’s Stingers defeated Handmade Healthcare 66-41. Brit Bigelow managed 16 points, Mike McAvoy nine for Handmade.
Rocha’s Drywall (3-2) trimmed Toto’s (3-1) by a 53-37 count Wednesday behind 14 points from Brice Hall. Jose Maciel raced to 11 points, Donivan Speaks 10 for Rocha’s.
Adam Moon scored 22 points and Michael Vanni added 11 as New Hope Community Church defeated Handmade 54-30. Brit Bigelow scored 17 points for Healthcare.
Rocha’s Drywall topped Gilroy Young plants 57-43 Monday behind 18 points from Maciel. Jeff Luu added 12 for the Drywall attack. John Mendalla scored 13 Plants points.
