Anchorpoint Christian football head coach KC Adams said three of his players – Kareem Lucas, Austin Keathley and Matt Thomas – were involved in a car accident Thursday afternoon.

As a result, the Warriors’ game Saturday has been canceled.

Adams said the players were hit after another car ran a red light near Bailey Avenue in San Jose. They were heading to southbound U.S. Highway 101 to head to practice at Anchorpoint in Gilroy. Adams added that Thomas, the team’s tight end and linebacker, suffered the most severe injuries, including broken ribs and other broken bones.

“They are all pretty banged up,” Adams said, asking for everyone to keep the kids in their prayers.
