The Gilroy Sister Cities Association will raise money for relief efforts in Japan as part of its annual fundraiser dinner.

The International Fundraiser Dinner will start at 6 p.m. April 16 at the I.F.D.E.S Portuguese Hall at 250 Old Gilroy Street.

There will be a no-host bar starting at 6 p.m., a 7 p.m. dinner and a fundraising auction at 8 p.m.

The dinner provides the bulk of funding for the association’s functions, and will include donations to the victims of the March 11 Japan earthquake, according to Hugh Smith, Gilroy Sister Cities Association president

Smith said the association coordinates all visits by Takko-Machi residents to the Gilroy Garlic Festival, arranges living accommodations and oversees the biannual visits of Takko-Machi junior and senior high school students. Details:
