The community raised just over $20,000 at Saturday night’s benefit for Teresa Glover, a Morgan Hill resident who is battling stage-three lymphoma, according to event organizers.
Volunteers and event producers from Arts Related Training for Technical Careers (ARTTEC) presented Glover with a check for $20,025 at her west Morgan Hill home Tuesday night.
The money was raised from ticket sales, raffles, a silent auction and donations at a benefit concert Saturday that featured world-famous rock band SmashMouth and local performers. The benefit event took place at Troy’s Bocce Ball.
Glover was diagnosed with lymphoma in December 2013, and has endured a number of rounds of chemotherapy since then with more treatment coming up.
Bob Allman, a co-worker of Glover’s at the M & H Tavern and head of the committee that organized the benefit, said the event was “very successful.” While the motto of Saturday’s benefit was “Because she is one of us,” Allman said the group’s new motto is “Promises made, promises kept.”
“Everything we said we were going to do, we did,” Allman said.
