GILROY – Trophies, pins, and medals were presented at the annual Gilroy Gator Swim Team banquet held at the Gilroy Senior Center in late October.

For the second straight year, the Gator swimmers worked hard and finished second in the Coast Valley Aquatics League Championships. Each age group was presented with a trophy for Most Valuable Swimmer, Most Improved Swimmer and Coaches Award.

In addition, Gold, Silver and Bronze trophies were given to the swimmers who earned the most time improvements for the 2002-03 season. One boy and girls from each group received a special medal for earning High Point at the CVAL’s championship held on Aug. 8-10 in Salinas. Every member of the team that participated in the championship meet received the new Gator logo pin.

The 2003-04 season started in September. If you are interested in joining the Gilroy Gators, come to the pool between the hours of 5 and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at Gilroy High School.
