The Gavilan women’s basketball team picked up a big 53-50 win over Feather River Thursday on the road. 
The Rams got off to a slow start, trailing 26-18 at the half. 
Felicia Lee-Cardenas was silent in the first half, but racked up 12 points to lead the team—including an and-one to put Gavilan ahead by one. She added five rebounds. 
Freshman Brittany Valdez posted 11 points, eight rebounds and four steals for the Rams. Natalia Armstrong chipped in with six points, six steals and five rebounds. Katrina Diaz added five points, including a free-throw that put her team up by three. 
Greer Watson added eight points and eight rebounds off the bench and Desirae Canelas posted a pair of 3-pointers.
Gavilan also played at Lassen College Friday, but fell 75-27. 
Kelsey Caudill led the team with six points. Valdez had 10 rebounds in that game. 
Gavilan will play at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Skyline College. 
VOLLEYBALL
Rams drop regular season finale
Gavilan lost its regular season finale 3-0 to Foothill College Wednesday, but it didn’t go down without a fight. 
The Rams lost 16-25, 29-31, 15-25 in Los Altos Hills to finish the regular season 13-12 overall, 7-5 in conference play. 
Samantha Nydam led the offense with 10 kills in addition to seven digs and an ace. Cheyanne Dela Merced had 14 assists, while Daisy Valladares had 13 digs. 
Gavilan will take on Fresno City College at 7 p.m. Tuesday at FCC to open the CCCAA playoffs. 
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Canada routs Gavilan
Robbie Skinner posted 17 points for Gavilan against Canada College, but it wasn’t enough to help his team to a win. The Rams fell 111-52 to the Colts Friday in Redwood City. 
By halftime, the Colts had already built a lead too big for Gavilan to come back from, leading 55-24. 
RJ Collins helped the offense with 13 points, three rebounds and two assists. Josef Delk came off the bench to add 13 points, six rebounds as well as an assist and a block. 
Gavilan also lost to the City College of San Francisco Wednesday in its home opener.
The Rams led 39-33 at the half, but were only able to muster up 19 points after the break.
Nick Bradley led with 13 points—including going 5 for 5 from the line—as well as five assists, five rebounds and two steals. Skinner added 10 points. Takoda Bowers was stellar defensively, pulling down seven rebounds and blocking five shots.
The Rams (0-4) will be back in action at 5 p.m. Tuesday to host Skyline College.
