Anthony Gomes homered and drove in three runs to lead the Cañada College baseball team to a 6-2 home win over Gavilan on Tuesday.

Gomes went 2-for-5 for the Colts, including a two-run shot in the bottom of the third inning, as Cañada outhit the Rams, 12-6.

Danny Gutierrez went 2-for-4 with a run scored for Gavilan, which dropped to 17-15 overall and into a tie for second place in the Coast Conference Pacific Division at 10-10. Marcus Sabatte and Isaiah Resendez each had an RBI for the Rams.

SOFTBALL

Gavilan College’s softball team dropped to 12-24 overall and 4-11 in the Coast Conference South Division with a 9-7 home loss to West Valley on Tuesday.
