George A. Stanley died in at his San Juan Bautista home on June
8, 2004, after a brief illness. He was 76.
George A. Stanley died in at his San Juan Bautista home on June 8, 2004, after a brief illness. He was 76.

Born on March 10, 1928, in Doniphan, Mo., Mr. Stanley served in the U.S. Army, and worked 23 years at Hardin Farms of California.

He retired from Ferry Morris Seed Company in 1992.

One of his favorite pastimes was holding huge yard sales and visiting with all those who stopped by.

He enjoyed life and helping others and was well known and liked.

He is survived by sons, Dennis Stanley of Inola, Okla., Duane Stanley of Auroria, Mo.; daughters, Jo Helen Stanley of Inola, Okla. and Norma Leroux Stanley; step-children, James Leroux of Paso Robles, Elaine Redden of Missouri, and Michelle Nicholas of Danville; two sisters in Chesterfield, Missouri; one brother in Florida; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by stepson, Michael Leroux and brother, James Stanley.

Services were held June 14, 2004, at Fowler Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville, Mo.

Burial was in Naylor, Mo.
