defeated host Branham 10-5 in Blossom Valley Athletic League
badminton.
San Jose – Gilroy swept the boys singles and girls doubles Tuesday and defeated host Branham 10-5 in Blossom Valley Athletic League badminton.
Boys singles winners for the Mustangs were Arthur Lee, 15-3, 15-0; Johnny Kuang, 15-2, 15-4; and Jorge Fernandez, 15-6, 15-10. Girls doubles winners were Meiyi Liang-Cuimei Ma, 15-4, 15-9; Christine Camacho-Ariana Azevedo, 15-6, 15-11; and Dhartiben Soni-Radhika Patel, 15-8, 15-10.
Gilroy mixed doubles winners were Jasmine Hyatt-Francisco Gil, 17-16, 15-6, and Vindy Yang-Anthony Ualat, 15-5, 17-14. Boys doubles winners were James Kwong-Rafael Quiroz, 15-5, 15-3, and Brian Hentschke-Will Ebert, 15-0, 15-2.
The match was originally scheduled for Gilroy but moved to Branham because of testing at GHS. The Mustangs are off until next Tuesday when they host Lincoln at 3:30pm.
