Gilroy's coach Abrem Estorga talks to his team during a timeout against Anzar Monday.

Abrem Estorga is stepping down as the Gilroy boys basketball coach, he announced on the team’s Facebook page Wednesday.
Estorga is stepping away after three years with the program.
He left a lengthy statement on Facebook thanking everyone who had helped him with the program.
“I am grateful for the support of Dr. Sanchez and Julie Berggren for their leadership of the GHS Athletics Department. Thank you to the parents for your support & trust of our staff as we invested into your young men,” the statement read. “Thank you to the players for your willingness to be pushed out of your comfort zone and challenged to become a better person, player, and teammate. Thank you to the coaches for your endless investment into the lives of the players and the Mustang Program.”
He went on to thank individuals by name who had helped him mold the program the last three seasons.
Estorga took over the program in 2013 and was the fourth to lead the Mustangs after longtime coach Bud Ogden stepped down in 2008.
This last season, the Mustangs went 12-12 overall and 7-5 in Pacific Division play.
